Silver Stratum ready to race

Well, after a long 18 months of training, pre-training and preparation, Silver Stratum has had a few trials and will be heading off to his first race in Colac on 14th February.

We will be there and very excited to see him race to see how he performs.

Silver Stratum Wins his first race at Bendigo

We all headed off to Bendigo, my home town on Saturday 9th April for Silver's first race at 1600 metres - a much better distance for him.  He had already had 3 starts, his first finishing 5th of 9, his second finishing 3rd of 8 and then 2nd out of 11.   There was much anticipation, my home town, The Elmore Cup - also home to my family and our race was the Elmore Events Maiden over 1600 metres.  

Silver was still back around 10th with only 400 metres go, but he stormed home to win.  The feeling of excitement as he finished first was amazing and we were delighted to have been there to see his first win.   

Hong Kong International Races

Rob and I had the pleasure of travelling to Hong Kong in December 2015 with 46 other liked minded horse racing friends to spend time at Sha Tin and Happy Valley for the Hong Kong International Races.  

Both venues were fabulous and filled with Australians making the journey to witness some of the best horses racing.

We had a sensational time and definitely recommend adding this to your racing calendar if you are a horse racing fan - it really is a truly international experience.

Next on our list is to travel to the Kentucky Derby in the US in April/May this year.  We are very excited and looking forward to this trip.

Award Wage Increases

Effective from the first pay period after 1 July 2015, the new Award rates, conditions and allowances come into effect.
